The Prairie Sensation is a Zone 2 hardy apple tree released by the University of Saskatchewan that produces large-sized apples (7-8 cm), that are green with a red overlay around the end of August. The white flesh is crisp and has a sweet blanaced with tart flavour. The apples can be eaten fresh or baked into pies and will keep for up to 4 months with proper storage. It is known as one of the three most cold-resistant apples in Alaska, along with Prairie Sun and September Ruby.
