Apple - September Ruby

September Ruby is a hardy apple tree that survives zone 2a with no dieback. It is precocious, producing fruit at 4 years, and annually thereafter, and a vigorous grower. The apples are medium-sized (6cm in diameter), with dark red skin and a light green base. The flesh is crisp, yellow-green, sweet with a little tart edge. It is good for fresh eating, baking and excellent for juicing. The tree is self-fertile, but will produce a larger crop with a pollinator nearby. Thin branches for slightly bigger apples. The apples can keep for about 4-5 months with proper storage. Moderately resistant to fire blight.
