The Rescue crabapple tree, which was created in Saskatchewan in 1936, produces an abundance of 3 to 4 cm pommes that are dull red over yellow in colour. The apples taste sweet and have a firm, yellow flesh. They can be eaten fresh or used for canning. The apples do not store well.
