Goldenrod is a native plant that produces golden yellow flowers atop green foliage late in the season. It tolerates poor soils, rock, clay, sand, cooler temperatures and is drought once established. Deer resistant. Do not fertilize. Perennial in Zone 3. Can spread via rhizomes and re-seeding. Goldenrod has been known traditionally for its medicinal properties. It's Latin name Solidago, means “to make whole or heal”.
