Gooseberry - Pixwell

A high-producing gooseberry that produces tart, juicy berries that start out green and ripen to pink. The berries are rich in antioxidants, and contain vitamins C, B5, B6 and E as well as copper, manganese, and potassium. They can be used for preserves, jams, and juices (wine). Shade tolerant so good understory plant. Good resistance to powdery mildew. Some thorns. Prefers moist soil. Keep base area of plant clear of weeds so roots don't compete for nutrients and water.
