Boreal Blizzard is a mid-season haskap that produces one of the largest (2.8 g), sweet tasting berries from the University of Saskatchewan collection. The elongated blue berries can be used for fresh eating, preserves or frozen. Blizzard has a tall, upright, bushy growth habit with strong branches.

Haskaps, also known as honeyberries, are a hardy cross between a honeysuckle and a blueberry. Haskap are hardy to -47 ºC and their blossoms can tolerate a frost of -7 ºC without damage. Haskap berries take about 5-10 days after they turn colour to become fully ripe. Tolerant of wide range of pH, but prefer well draining soil (plant on hill or berm if poor draining soil). Requires pollinator to bear fruit.
