Raspberry - Royalty Purple

The Royalty Purple Raspberry is a cross between red and black raspberries that produces an abundance of large, firm, purple berries (up to 2.5 cm long) over an extended growing season. The berries can be picked while a little unripe and still red for a classic raspberry flavour, or when fully ripe and purple for a sweeter taste more like black raspberries. Berries can be used for fresh eating, cooking, preserves, juice (wine), or frozen. The purple colour remains when processed. Hardier than black raspberries and resistant to the common insects that trouble berry plants. Second year canes should be pruned while dormant after they bear fruit.
