Honeywood is a large and productive saskatoon variety that has a showy display of white flowers in the spring before the leaves. It blooms 4 to 8 days later than most of the other varieties so is suitable for locations with late spring frosts. The purple-blue berries it produces are large (16 mm) and have good flavour. The berries can be used for fresh eating, baking, preserves, dried, or frozen. Good for windrows or hedge planting.

Saskatoons are slow-growing, so some fruit will be produced in 1-3 years, but it may take up to 15 years before a full crop is produced. Better fruit production if a second cultivar is nearby. Amend clay soil for best success.
