Sea Buckthorn - Pollmix

A somewhat thorny male cultivar that produces inconspicuous flowers in the spring for pollinating up to 5 or 6 female plants. Note that the females need to flower at the same time and they are wind pollinated. German origin.

Sea buckthorn are very hardy and have the added beneift of fixing Nitrogen into the soil. They tolerate and improve poor soils, but need adequate drainage. Plant where they can be managed if needed. Drought tolerant once established.
