A slow-growing male cultivar that can be used for pollinating up to 7 female sea buckthorn shrubs. Note that the females need to flower at the same time and they are WIND pollinated. It will remain compact, and naturally grow into a rounded habit. The silvery-blue, pointed leaves remain for the full season. Only a few thorns at the tips of the branches for this variety. Tolerates alkaline soil and salt spray.
Sea buckthorn are very hardy and have the added benefit of fixing Nitrogen into the soil. They tolerate and improve poor soils, but need adequate drainage. Plant where the suckers can be managed if needed. Drought tolerant once established.
