Hops - Magnum

A perennial hops from Germany with an exceptional growth rate and large cones. Used predominately as a base bittering hop for pale ales and lagers which result in squeaky clean bitterness and subtle citrus-like flavors. It has relatively high alpha acid content which includes high amounts of humulone, but comparatively low cohumulone. This combination is thought to create a less harsh, more pleasant bitterness, with little to none of the “grassiness” present in many other high alpha varieties. Resistant to verticillium wilt and peronospora.
